What is SecondList?

SecondList is basically a listing classifieds website for Second Life® avatars. SecondList behaves almost the same as that text based classifieds that shall go unnamed.

What is the difference between retail and nc/t items in the for sale section?

The nc/t clothing, nc/t accessories, nc/t shoes, nc/t furniture are for items for sale between resident and resident. What would be considered ‘used’ or ‘second (pun) hand’ items.

The retail clothing, retails shoes, retail accessories, and retail furniture subcategories are for stores to post about new releases, special sales, etc.

Keep in mind posts last only 10 days.

What if I want to sell something in USD not L$?

I know the price section is listed as L$. If you wish to sell something in USD please put 0 in the Price input and put in the title of the post the price amount in USD. Please make sure to mention the USD price in the body of your post as well. It is very important that you make it clear that your sale is in USD (or any other currency, just make it clear it’s not L$ ok?).

I am anticipating that the sim/homestead for sale subcategories will only use USD, but who knows.

REPEAT: SecondList is not responsible if someone doesn’t make the tender of their sale clear and another resident doesn’t understand.

What is NOT ACCEPTABLE on SecondList?

*Attacking or bullying individuals.

*Adult and explicit material placed in an area that isn’t considered adult.  The explicit material must remain in the adult areas as some people might visit from work and they will know to stay away from the subcategories that might contain surprises. In other words: Keep it in the cage!

*Revealing personal or private information that is not yours to reveal.

*Spamming (Please wait 48 hours before reposting a classified.)

*Copyright violating material

What is considered an adult area?

All subcategories marked with an * are considered adult areas. Be prepared for surprises.

How does flagging a post work?

In the upper right of the post there are 2 links. One says “One of the Best” and the other says “Report Abuse”.  These are the two links that are used to flag a post.

To report/flag a post:

When you click the “Report Abuse” link it will mark the post as abusive. It takes a predetermined amount of abuse reports to remove a post.

***A single abuse report will not remove a post***

Abuse reports are 1 per IP address and everything is handled automatically. It’s the power of Javascript.

When you click “One of the Best” you will be directed to form on the SecondList blog which you input the URL of the post and submit it. Posts that are submitted to One of the Best will be posted on the SecondList blog. One of the Best posts are moderated by a SecondList admin prior to posting.

I think you are missing a category/subcategory, can I recommend categories?

Yes. Please contact SecondList admins using the contact form here and suggest the category/subcategory. SecondList is a classifieds site for the community and that’s not just marketing talk.
